During my recent stay at Alter Kranen, I found the location to be the hotel's biggest asset. Situated just steps away from the Main River and city center, it offers an easy walk to shops, restaurants, and the Marienberg Fortress. The views from the west side rooms of both the river and the fortress are quite nice, making them a pleasant backdrop to your stay. The room itself was comfortable and came equipped with essentials like air conditioning and a flat-screen TV, though we spent little time inside. Breakfast featured fresh ingredients and was a solid start to our days. Parking was easy and conveniently located 60 yards away, though I recommend walking when possible to soak in the city vibe. While the hotel boasts certain luxuries, the pricing aligns well with its value-especially for access to prime attractions. Whether exploring the Weihnachtsmarkt or the old stone bridge, Alter Kranen offers a blend of comfort and convenience that makes it a smart choice for budget-conscious travelers like myself.
